Winners Citizen Journalism Competition – talent spanned print, photography, video and broadcasting

These are the winners in the London Voices Citizen Journalism Competition.  Louisa Naks won first prize, Guilia Bassanese second and Seren Morris third.

They all live in London and received cash bursary prizes of up to £2,000. The money awarded by The Media Society and London Learning Consortium.

Due to the success of London Voices, the competition is likely to run again in 2017/8.  There is even talk the prize could go national. This would make it one of the first key competitions in citizen journalism in the UK.

It is a profession that requires a strong interest in the community. In the Capital, with a population of nearly 9 million, there is a demand for more diverse and local news.

LLC is looking for additional support and sponsorship to help make next year’s competition an even bigger success.
