All Eyez On Me trailer – it is totally mesmerising and can’t be missed – arrives in British cinemas June 30

This is how it goes

The movie tells the true and untold story of prolific rapper, actor, poet and activist Tupac Shakur. The film follows Shakur from his early days in New York City to his evolution into being one of the world’s most recognised and influential voices.  This was before his untimely death at the age of 25. Against all odds, Shakur’s raw talent, powerful lyrics and revolutionary mind-set propelled him into becoming a cultural icon.  His legacy continues to grow long after his passing.

ALL EYEZ ON ME stars Kat Graham, Lauren Cohan, Hill Harper, Jamal Woolard, Danai Gurira and Demetrius Shipp Jr. as Tupac Shakur


The film is released 21 years after the death of Tupac Shakur. He was shot while in his car by a gunman in a drive-by shooting.  He later died in hospital.  Tupac’s birthday is June 16.

Rappers EDI Mean and Young Noble from Tupac’s group the Outlawz play themselves in the film. The rest of the group are played by actors.

Director, Benny Boom said in an interview that when he first saw a picture of Demetrius Shipp Jr, he thought it was a photo of Tupac himself.
