Theresa May and Jeremy Corbyn

Sky News Vote 2017 over – the result was a Hung Parliament – the Tories did not get a majority

Polls suggested a close call between Theresa May and Jeremy Corbyn. And it turned out to be true. The hung parliament result has painted a different picture on the political future of the UK

Theresa May’s plan to win an outstanding lead misfired.  There are calls for her to resign but she has refused to do so.

The Conservatives have coordinated a deal with the Democratic Unionist Party of Northern Ireland. They had already hinted they would be prepared to talk with Theresa May over a joint relationship. What interesting times we are in.  A hung Parliament and a Brexit deal to negotiate.  Very dodgy all round.

The nation had a long night with viewers staying with the vote.  But they have made a decision that has put the country in turmoil.

So, what is going to happen to Brexit?  Negotiations are meant to start next week.  Mrs May wants to continue leading the talks.  And she will do so as she gets to staying in Downing Street.
