Santander Virtual Love – a stunt that surprises and delights

Santander helped a customer propose to his girlfriend in a unique and special way.  The bank found the couple with a promotion looking for a guy ready to tie the knot.  Robin King came forward.

Robin and Kate are from Brighton. Now, Kate was lured to Sheffield thinking she was there for customer research exercises involving virtual reality.  Robin was in his element.

Santander set a scene in the middle of Sheffield not far from the High Street for the virtual reality trick.

Kate was having fun with her virtual experience until her goggles were removed.  And to her surprise she found Robin on bended knee in the middle of a wedding ‘set’ with a large crowd watching.

To the joy of the couple and the crowd  Olympic gold medalist Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill appeared with a huge cheque in her hand.  She handed it to Robin and Kate to help kick-start their future together

Robin is a part-time electrician, a full-time father to their one-year-old son and a member of a British beard growing club. Kate works for a charity.
