Shiny suits with chat lines – created by Nottingham artist

Artist Tom Hackett has paid tribute to three cities in the East Midlands by designing shiny, bright, contemporary suits for men. He needed to collect Chat Lines for the fabric so he walked, talked and inter-acted with locals from Nottingham, Lincoln and Corby.

He found their comments were fun, serious and perfect for the suits. Conversation Piece is an inter-active exhibition where the suits are on display and the re-recorded conversations tell their stories.

The suits are fantastic ‘up close’.  It is great to hear the voices but it is even greater to see the lines actually printed on the fabric.

Recordings by Julian Woodcock.

Go see Conversation Piece at The Collection, Danes Terrace, Lincoln LN2 1LP until May 15. Reaction has been great as intrigued crowds take a look.
