Eurovision 2017 UK Entry Lucie Jones is from the small Welsh village of Pentyrch not far from Cardiff. Lucie was chosen by the public after competing with five other finalists on BBC Two Friday 27 January.
She will now head for Kiev where she will represent the UK with the song Never Give Up On You. It was co-written by Emmelie de Forest, who won the Eurovision Song Contest for Denmark in 2013 with the song Only Teardrops.
Expert judges were: Bruno Tonioli, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and CeCe Sammy. They were entertaining throughout the show. Each of them admired the singers and gave them lots of credit for their performances
Lucie’s win makes her the 60th entry for the United Kingdom.
We are confident that the 25-year-old will be a huge success in Kiev and will bring home the big prize. Her all important performance will be on May 13 when all the competing singers will sing their hearts out to win.
