Trump Presidential Inauguration 2017 – He is now President Donald Trump. Watch again. It was a cold day but a full and a historic day. Mr Trump is now the 45th President.
President Trump also spoke of abandoned factories, failed education system and crime. He said his presidency would bring about change and that the American carnage would stop right here and now.
Shortly after the ceremony Mr Trump signed his first official actions as the 45th president. A number of documents were ready and waiting for him to sign.
The President vowed to do what he could immediately using executive action, chalking up early victories before he has to turn to the grinding work of getting bills through Congress.
His team quickly overhauled the White House website to include his pledge to roll back Barack Obama’s strategy on climate change.
Crowds poured into Washington and headed straight for the US Capitol. They wanted to catch a glimpse of their future President and take part in the ceremony. There are protests against the Presidency of Donald Trump in Washington, New York and other parts of the world.
Authorities forecast close to a million people were there to watch the process and festivities.
Taking the Oath
Trump was given a 21-gun salute. The blasts will be heard loud and clear.
As President of the United States, Donald Trump will visit the UK. Prime Minister Theresa May is planning an early visit to Washington spurred on by his recent comments that Britain would be head of the list when it comes to trade deals
There were demonstrations in downtown Washington. Windows were smashed and premises damaged. Police arrested a number of people.
Not much has changed. Despite winning the election Trump is not a popular man. He has had hard times in Washington and not very welcome wherever he goes. But the country’s economy has improved. And there are more jobs for people. Migration continues to be a key issue Trump wants to pursue. Will there be any other changes? Will Donald Trump survive his four years as President? It is forecast he may be impeached or he would not be voted in again.
