Heroes Parade Manchester was an amazing sight. A huge lion in the Team GB colours of the British flag of red white and blue, led the floats that carried the Olympians through the streets.
There were huge crowds at each turn and point en route to central Manchester. On the way were dancers and performers welcoming the athletes as they waved to the massive public.
All of them were proud to be part of the big heroes parade and were thrilled to see that so many had come out to congratulate the Olympic team
Team GB set an Olympic record in Rio 2016 by winning 67 medals – two more than they managed at London 2012.
The Paralympians also bested their previous performance with 147 medals – 27 more than four years ago.
There were 14 floats that travelled through the city and on the way encountered more than 150,000 people – it was massive! Everyone was proud of the great athletes
