PM Will Trigger Brexit By End of March.
Theresa May said the people voted in June to leave the European Union and we are “going to leave the EU.” Her intention now she added was to make sure it happened.
Theresa May sent out this message at the Conservative Party Conference in Birmingham her first since becoming Prime Minister. She emphasised that it was time to strike a deal with the EU as an independent, sovereign UK. It was to be done she said as a United Nation.
Britain would be back on the world market and become a truly global country. It would not benefit the privileged few but everyone in the country.
There was hug applause when the Prime Minister said that our laws would no longer be made in Brussels but in Westminster.
She told delegates: “We are going to be a fully independent, sovereign country – a country that is no longer part of a political union with supranational institutions that can override national parliaments and courts.
Up until now the PM had said she would not trigger Brexit this year. But now she has made it clear that article 50 will be delivered by the end of March 2017.
