Superb Sarah Storey wins 14th Paralympic gold. Dame Sarah Storey makes it three golds in Rio – and 14 overall – with victory in the women’s C4-5 road race
Dame Sarah’s gold was ParalympicsGB’s 131st medal of the games.
Storey, who finished in two hours, 15 minutes and 42 seconds, struck out alone to finish three and a half minutes before China’s Jianping Ruan.
Her GB team-mate Crystal Lane, 31, took bronze, her first medal of the Games.
Dame Sarah the feeling of winning is still the same as her first when she was 14. Each race, she said, has its own story. Her experience in Rio has been one of the best.
Storey has other plans though and is moving on. She will be 40 next year (2017) and she is setting her sights on Tokyo 2020. Wow she will be great and we wish her luck!
