Aled Davies Wins F42 Shot Put Gold. Β He won the event with an almighty throw of 15.97m.

Born in Bridgend, Wales, the 25-year-old star threw new bests in the first, second and third rounds. Davies set a new mark of 15.97 metres with his third throw.

Iran’s Sajad Mohammadian claimed silver with a throw of 14.31m. The South African Tyrone Pillay picked up bronze.

Aled Davies won bronze in the same event at the 2012 London Paralympics, where he also won gold in the F42 discus.

Davies has difficult functionality of his right leg.Β It has missing bones, no muscle or ligament growth and a fixed foot which was created at birth.

The athlete has done us proud!
