Team GB Athletes back home. Great Britain’s record-breaking Olympians, who won 67 medals were applauded on the tarmac by officials and airport staff.
They were flown home on a specially chartered gold tipped jumbo jet, BA2016, with a “victoRIOus” livery.
First off the plane was Max Whitlock and Nicola Adams with both of them wearing their gold medals they had won at Rio 2016. Not far behind them was the glorious hockey club and many of the golden athletes.
Some members of the team had returned home earlier but on the special jet there were 320 athletes and support staff on board. The flight was full of fun and enjoyment as they knew they were on their way home. All of them eager to be with their families and friends.
It was a smooth flight and a smooth landing at Heathrow airport. Everyone loved the gold tipped nose of the aircraft.
