Team GB women cyclists win gold in pursuit track. It was an amazing race as they beat the United States.
Laura Trott’s gold means she has become the first British woman to win three Olympic titles. And it is likely she could win a fourth this week, 13 August 2016. Britain is proud!
The cyclists added a gold and silver to GB’s Rio medal haul on day eight.
The record-breaking Trott, 24, led her team mates Joanna Rowsell, Katie Archibald and Elinor Barker to glory as they obliterated their American rivals.
Capping off another magnificent day in the velodrome for Team GB Becky James won silver in the women’s keirin jus moment later.
What an incredible and amazing day. It looks like Team GB have had a super Saturday similar to London 2012 at the Olympic Park. There is also talk the gold medal thing could become sensational Sunday.
