Olympic Gold for Women rowers made the day, 12 August, full of excitement and fantastic sporting event.
World champions Helen Glover and Heather Stanning, who won Britain’s first gold of the London Games, led from the start and they finished 1.2 seconds clear of New Zealand in a time of seven minutes 18.29 seconds.
The pair is now unbeaten in 39 races, a run that stretches back five years.
Glover said: “The pressure was immense. London was a home games and there was nothing more special but this is defending a title – it means so much.”
Today’s gold , Friday August 12, has moved Great Britain up the medal table and placing GB in fourth place. Japan is just ahead with seven golds. The two top countries are the United States, and China.
If Great Britain continues like this the medal table will look a lot different by end of Rio 2016
