House of Stripes – Owner Can Keep Candy Colours

House of Stripes

A High Court judge has ruled the red and white paint can stay. The owner of the £15m house in Kensington, West London had been ordered by the Council to repaint it white.  The ruling was given 24 April 2017.

It has been a long, long battle.  In February 2016 a judge had ordered that the owner of the red and white £15m house in Kensington, West London paint the property white within 28 days.

Instead she chose to challenge the order and won.

Apparently, widow Zipporah Lisle-Mainwaring, painted the candy stripes to “get her own back” on neighbours who objected to her plans to demolish her property and replace it with a new house and controversial mega two-storey basement with a swimming pool

The red and white suddenly appeared which sent shock waves throughout the neighbourhood
Ynuk.tv went and had a look soon after the argument began
