It was England v Italy, 11 o’clock at night when Pubs normally close, but not Saturday June 14.

The Government agreed that following an application they could serve alcohol late.  It was the World Cup 2014 and many Pubs across the nation got the okay and were able to stay open especially for the first opening match for England.

The pubs were filled with football fans eager to catch the match ‘live’ and enjoy drinking a pint while watching.  At the Alexandra Pub in South London there was late night drinking along with a big screen so that fans could watch the key match of the day.  It started with great elation and yes we know the result- not the best. was there and captured the mood of the night for the England v Italy game.
