Peckham Film Awards Futuristic Art Drama Wins – great talent

Peckham Film Awards Matthew Easy top award winner

In the Peckham Film Awards a top film honour has gone to Matthew Easy of South East London for his futuristic art film The Reelists set in London.

Red Carpet

23 year old Matthew, who wrote and directed the film, was an entrant in the annual SE15 Young Filmmakers Competition 2013.  It is a part of the Peckham and Nunhead Free Film Festival.  The Peckhamplex Cinema hosted the ‘red carpet’ presentation.  Awards also announced for the categories of best drama, animation and documentary.

Live anywhere

One of the judges described the films as ambitious and ranging from weird to wonderful.  There were 32 entrants in the Peckham Film Awards aged between 11 and 25 years.  They had submitted films that told a story about  “My SE15: People and Places”.  It will be happening again next year. You con’t have to live in SE15 to enter!  As long as your film relates to the “My SE15: People and Places” theme in some way you can live anywhere in London, the UK or the world!

But first take a look at how this year’s winners got their prizes.  ynuk.tv was there for the big awards day
