Danny Boyle’s new film, Trance, is a psychological thriller starring James McAvoy as a slimy lawyer called Simon who runs foul of a gang of art thieves, lead by violent criminal Franck. When a knock on the head leaves Simon with amnesia the gang employs a hypnotist to recover the location of their lost painting.
