Pussy riot punk group showed up in Sochi a seaside resort, but were ‘lashed’ by Russian police when they carried out anti-Putin protests

Husband of band member, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, reported that his wife had vanished.  He had not seen her after being moved to a new prison.

Nadezhda and another member of the punk group were sent to jail for mocking President Putin in a song they sang in a Moscow Cathedral in February 2012. A third band member was released on appeal.

The group’s inprisonment led to an international day of protest which was held in London at the Royal court theatre. Supporters read out court statements made by the girls at the time of their court appearances.
