Belly Dancing for Mental Healthđź‘Ź – stop stigma

Belly Dancing for Mental Health.

It was a great idea and Islington shopping centre was where Mind and Rethink chose to send a message to the people about mental health.

Among those who helped to promote the event was former Britain’s Got Talent contestant, Sophie Mei who took up belly dancing to tackle mental health problems and break the stigma that can go with it.

She helped promote ‘Time to Get Moving’ by performing at the special event in North London. It was part of a week of activities across the country in Summer of 2010 organised by Mind and Rethink.

The centre was crowded with spectators and were thrilled to watch such a professional dancer who described to them her success in ridding herself of mental issues.

They applauded her for the courage to shed her burden.
