Olympic Torch tour
The Olympic Torch tour has begun with a replica on the r0ad in the UK in search of people to relay the flame to the Olympics next year. Volunteers will be chosen to carry the flame.
The torch relay for the Olympics lasted 70 days, with 66 evening celebrations. About 8,000 people carried the torch a total distance of about 8,000 miles (12,800 km), starting from Lands End in Cornwall. A wide range of people carried the torch around the country, mostly sports men and women, military figures and other local heroes from towns and cities across the nation. A number of celebrities also held the flame on its journey, including Dr Who star Matt Smith.
London 2012 national presenting partner, Lloyds TSB, has got the interactive roadshow moving and is inviting communities on the way to name their nominees to carry the golden torch. Saturday July 9 was the turn of Nottingham. Ynuk.tv was there to meet those eager to be part of the Games and to get reaction from the public about the country hosting the Olympic Games.
